A Few Bricks Laid

By the end of Friday they had begun laying a few bricks. 

Aaron had telephoned me to confirm that I wanted the herringbone pattern of bricks to be laid at 45 degrees to the line of the driveway instead of 90 degrees.  He agreed that the 45 degree pattern would look better so I agreed to pay the extra $2 per sq m (total $600) for the 45 degree pattern.  I told him that whereas the pain of the extra cost would soon fade away the pleasure of the better pattern will be with me to the end.

The few bricks that have been laid give me an idea of what the pattern will look like as well as how the slightly darker border of "gray" bricks will look against the cream ones.
