Garage Cleanup

I've gone quiet since installing the entertainment system because I've been directing my efforts toward the sailing club and my boat Pachuca.  Whatever work I've been putting into the renovation project lately has been not particularly interesting.

The most tedious project was the cleanup of the garage, which involved lots of probing into contents of boxes, suitcases, etc, with painful decisions on what to keep and what to throw out.

However, there were benefits.  I rediscovered many useful items as well as valuable clothing and equipment that Arnold had left back in 2008.

This photo represents "the end of the beginning", to paraphrase Churchill, because there is still much work to do.  But at least I've now got a good idea of what I've got and where to find it.  I want to clear the work benches at the far left and far right so that I can better use the building for its intended purpose, as a workshop.  And what a great workshop it is, with good lighting, plenty of power points, plenty of ventilation from 3 aluminum sliding windows and 2 doors,  and strong overhead trusses. (One of the reasons why I decided to keep this property was that I could not contemplate home life without a well equipped workshop.)

At the far right is BMW R1150R motorcycle that I purchased from Arnold.  Thanks to Reg's help all I'll have to do when I'm ready is to telephone Vince in Bayswater and he will do the rest, ie have the machine transported to his shop for complete examination and preparation for the road.  This work must be done by an expert (and believe me, Vince is an expert in very high demand) because it is a high quality machine that has been idle for probably close to ten years.
