Kitchen and Office

The kitchen is taking shape.  The refrigerator is in place with the microwave oven on top of it and I have stocked it and the cupboards with food.  Yesterday I set up the bread maker in the corner where the clock radio is shown in the photo, and the food blender is stored in a lower cabinet.  Sufficient pots, pans, dishes and cutlery are in place.  The garage is still full of cooking implements (e.g. graters, tongs, and hand electric blender) which I will retrieve as needed.  I will soon spend a day removing the plastic coverings from the cabinets and fitting the door handles.

Jarrah Desk and Side Tables
Paul helped me move the very heavy jarrah desk from the garage into the office.  I like that desk.  I purchased it at Gregson's the auctioneers way back in the early 1980's.  I had a choice of two desks, both damaged to the point that nobody seemed to want them.  I purchased the least damaged one for very little money then restored it with some structural repairs, sanding, and varnishing.  I now have a place for my computer, which will be permanently on the desk once I am living in the house.  (I made both solid jarrah side tables shown in the photo as the project of a wood working course that I did in the early 90's.)
