Electrical Work

At 7AM Graham the electrician arrived with Brandon, his apprentice.  I immediately recognized Graham as the electrician who had solved my wiring problems shortly after my arrival in September.  A few minutes later Paul arrived and the four of us got to work.

By 1 PM the following had been accomplished:
- Convert the 2-phase connection to single phase for the oven
- Set up a new circuit for the stove
- Install GPO's above counter top
- New GPO for the exhaust fan and counter light
- Lights mounted in the kitchen, bedroom, and living room
- Lights connected with double switch for the kitchen light
- New circuit for the double GPO supplying the refrigerator and microwave oven

This was not as easy as it might seem.  Work had to be done in the attic, basement, and Paul had to punch holes in two walls in order to pass cables through.  During this time I was sent into Midland to fetch material from Graham's wholesale supplier.

I was very pleased with the results.  The kitchen light will provide plenty of illumination with its four lamps that can be individually directed, and its LED globes provide a warm rather than harsh light.  The bedroom and living room lights look good to my eye and should be able to deliver good illumination with their 2 LED globes per light.

In the afternoon Paul began work on the office space.  Tomorrow we will finish paneling the walls and will the put up the ceiling.

I have included an offcut from the installation of the granite back splash.  It is 20mm thick of solid material, and not veneer.  The counter top is 40mm thick.
