Glass Up

Two men from Mundaring Glass arrived at 11 AM and spent two hours installing the shower screen and vanity mirror.
Mounting Clips for Screen

Screen and Mirror

Wide and easy access into shower

The screen partition is of "toughened" glass 10mm thick.  Toughened glass is used because laminated glass regularly exposed to moisture on its edges can de-laminate over time.  It is supported by two metal metal clips and what I think is silicone sealant on two edges, along the hob and the wall.  I was told that glass may flex but the edges will remain firmly in place.

The glass work cost a total of $1337, bringing the total cost of the porch and bathroom renovation to date at $16,667, and the total house renovation at about $120,000.

The following remains to be done to complete the renovation:

1) Wood trim around vanity window
2) Construct and mount medicine cabinet
3) Paint bathroom door
3) Replace the brick paving where re-connections to the sewer line were made

Paul will do (1) and (2) after his visiting cousin returns to England on the 27th of this month.
