| Water inlet for toilet cistern |
This morning Christian showed up at about 7.30 AM and began by setting off the job. By the time he started tiling he know the dimensions of the room and its variations from the ideal and had marked out the center of the floor where he would begin the laying of the tiles.
I came to see that Christian was very good at his trade. I had a chat with him while he worked and learned that he had been tiling for 11 years, had won a prize during his apprenticeship under Brad, and was a fully qualified tiler. This did not surprise me given the quality of the work that I was witnessing. Our Christian might be young, but he was no trainee second stringer.

I helped him where I could, saving him some time and effort by ferrying in the tiles from the garage on my wheelbarrow. He finished at 2.30, an hour earlier than he had expected, and went home.
Tomorrow Brad will be on deck. By then the second coat of waterproofing will be dry and the shower floor and hob can be tiled. I'm not sure if they will be able to begin the wall tiling because it seems to me that the glue bedding for the shower tiles must be allow to dry.
