Landscaping Work Almost Completed

After several weeks of hard work the property is almost ready for the fire season.  I spent many sweaty hours bringing down trees, lopping branches, trimming bushes and worst of all, digging fallen branches from under mats of vegetation.

Everything was burned, which meant that every Saturday between 9 and 10 AM I had to visit the volunteer fire brigade office for a burning permit to cover the following week.  Before lighting a fire I had to call FESA (Fire and Emergency Services Authority) and notify them of my plans.

The work has reduced an enormous amount of fire load from the property, making things safer both to myself and my neighbors.

I've got one more day of clearing and burning, then will have until 1 December to mow and trim the property with a whipper sniper (aka weed eater).
