Yard, Roofing, Wireless Router

The first order of business yesterday was to find the wireless router which was somewhere in the garage. I found it with surprising ease and found it to be in its original box with all of the required cables, power pack, and setup CD's.  It is a "Westnet" 621 4-port wireless router.  Even though it is vintage 2007 or 2008 it supports ADSL1, ADSL2, ADSL2+ as well as bridging, DMZ, and other features.  This morning I went through the documentation on the CD and will now make the hour-long drive to Darlington to try to set up the router.

Yesterday I also finished my property cleanup program and lit the last fire.  The next phase will to mow the entire property with my small 4-stroke lawn mower.  The mower will have to work very hard taking down some high weeds over the rough terrain, and I have a weaker 2-stroke mower in reserve.  Once that is done I'll do a lot of trimming with my whipper snipper (aka weed eater) and that will be the last mowing work until mid-winter (July) because we are now entering summer and no weeds will grow in the desert-like conditions.  It has been 4 or 5 weeks of hard work to get the property back in order after more than 5 years of neglect, and now it is in "steady state" where I can expect routing lopping and trimming and 4 mows per year.

In the afternoon I got a visit from Peter and Paul who wanted to take some final measurements of the roof to ensure that the order of the sheeting is correct.  I then made two telephone calls to pay for the sheeting and the 6-meter metal skip (dumpster), and everything will be delivered on Monday morning, which will be when the serious work begins.
