Paul and his team laid the first section of roofing yesterday - the almost horizontal part along the back of the house.

In these photos you can see the ripples of the roof from years of heavy weight from the tiles on the battens. The metal strips are used to bypass the battens and establish a level base for the roofing sheets. Note how the top of the chimney was removed, leaving only the flue that I was using for the pot belly stove in the living room. That flue will come down, to be replaced with one to allow me to use the wood burning kitchen stove. The dish is for "Foxtel" satellite TV service. Foxtel can deliver as much world-wide TV as you are willing to pay for - The Sky's The Limit, so to speak. However, I found the service to be very expensive and I just could not stomach the torrent of advertisements.
I did not take a photo showing the insulation material laid down under the sheets, but I will capture that in the next phase of the roofing.
