Front Room Preparation, Progress on Kitchen

During the weekend I stripped the wood trimming and corner coping from the front bedroom and it is now ready for the installation of new ceiling and wall panels on top of the old ones by Paul.

Yesterday (Monday) Paul and I assembled the kitchen wall cabinets and laid them out on top of the base cabinets.  We also mounted the new Bosch oven which fits in the cabinet like a glove.  On the way home I dropped into Bunnings Midland and placed a special order for the sink that I had selected at the Armadale branch.

Today I wanted to be at Brenda's at 1 PM for lunch with Chris from Condingup (near Esperance) whom I had not seen since May 2008 when we visited Esperance at the beginning of the circumnavigation on Pachuca, so I put in only a morning session at the house laying the first coat of paint on the kitchen ceiling.  Paul showed up just as I was leaving and Peter arrived soon afterward, and they would spend the afternoon mounting the cupboards on the wall.  I put the small LED light on the counter so that he would not forget that it must somehow be plugged in to the GPO servicing the exhaust fan.  Paul is a fast worker and I won't be surprised to find tomorrow morning that he has also put up the new ceiling in the front bedroom.

Ready for Ceiling Painting

Tomorrow I will arrive early as usual and lay a second coat on the kitchen ceiling in the cool and solitude of the early morning.  I would like to lay 3 coats of paint on that ceiling because I once the stone counter top is in place re painting above the wall cabinets will be difficult.
